Hi there! Today we are going to teach you how to use VIA Pixetto and our native Scratch coding platform, which we call Blocks, to create a cute color-changing chameleon.
Before we get started, make sure to download the ‘Chameleon.sb3’ file form http://cdn.viaembedded.com/Pixetto/Demo/Chameleon.sb3 . If not already available on your personal computer, please download VIA Pixetto Studio from www.pixetto.ai beforehand. (For more detailed instructions, please refer to out VIA Pixetto vision sensor video tutorial.)
Let’s do this!
Connect your VIA Pixetto to your PC. (For more detailed instructions,
please refer to our ‘Introduction to VIA Pixetto Step-by-Step Guide‘.)
Open the Pixetto Utility application in Pixetto Studio.
Select the ‘Color Detection‘ function.
Select the colors you would like VIA Pixetto to detect and click ‘Apply‘.
Aim VIA Pixetto’s camera at the objects and make sure the labels of the respective colors for each object appear.
Close Pixetto Utility once you have finished testing.
Once on the ‘Documentation & Software Download‘ webpage, scroll
down to the very bottom. Click the ‘Machine Learning Accelerator‘ icon
to access the Machine Learning Accelerator webpage.
In the upper left-hand corner, select ‘File‘. Select ‘Upload from your computer‘ and then open the ‘Chameleon.sb3’ file that you had previously
In the upper middle part of the Blocks page, select your ‘Connection‘ option. In the pop-up window, select ‘Connect‘ for the device you would like to connect, then click ‘Go to Editor‘.
Aim your VIA Pixetto at different objects of the colors you have previously
selected in Pixetto Utility. The chameleon on screen will change to match
the color of the object shown!
We are finished! Again, we’ve worked step-by-step through how to create a
color changing chameleon with the help of our VIA Pixetto and some AI.
Now, you can also experiment with different color detection creations of
